Professor Youngjae Jang of KAIST and CEO of DAIM Research presented a Physical AI strategy for transforming Korea's manufacturing industry during the keynote session at the Industrial AI Strategy Seminar on the 17th. Professor Jang emphasized the urgent need to use Korea's manufacturing sites as large-scale AI testbeds in response to the expansion of U.S. technology companies into the manufacturing sector. He also highlighted the opportunities in industrial and manufacturing AI while introducing DAIM Research's innovative technologies and real-world applications.
Professor Jang shared a case in which AI-powered digital twins operating outside the factory directly controlled physical robots, reducing factory investment costs by 30%. The achievement was recognized as a key example of maximizing operational efficiency by shifting from conventional operator-driven processes to autonomous operations. Professor Jang also emphasized that building an industrial ecosystem is just as important as adopting new technologies. Building on its proprietary Physical AI technologies, DAIM Research plans to continue advancing solutions that address real manufacturing challenges and help Korea strengthen its leadership in the global autonomous manufacturing market.
