"A Manufacturing System Where Factories Make Decisions on Their Own": DAIM Research's Vision for Autonomous Manufacturing

  • 2025.11.07

DAIM Research showcased its reinforcement learning-based AI manufacturing and logistics operations platform at ROBOTWORLD 2025 in KINTEX, Ilsan. During the exhibition, the company presented the core technologies behind its autonomous manufacturing solution, which enables entire factories to make decisions and operate autonomously rather than relying on conventional automation. A key feature of the platform is that it extends reinforcement learning algorithms beyond individual robots to an integrated decision-making framework for the entire factory. Instead of having each robot calculate its own route independently, the AI determines the optimal operating state based on production targets and orchestrates heterogeneous robot fleets—including AMRs, OHTs, and AGVs—within a single system.

This approach prevents deadlocks and resource conflicts among robots while fundamentally eliminating bottlenecks that arise as manufacturing operations expand. In addition, its digital twin-based real-time simulation platform (xDT) can automatically reconfigure operational policies within one hour when changes such as equipment expansion or failures occur. Building on collaboration with companies including Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor, DAIM Research plans to provide an integrated autonomous manufacturing platform that combines its Robot Fleet Management System (xMS) with its virtual factory solution, significantly reducing implementation lead times and operational staffing requirements.
