Professor Youngjae Jang of KAIST (CEO of DAIM Research) presented a workforce strategy for the Physical AI era at the AI Transformation and the Future of Work forum held at the National Assembly Members' Office Building. He emphasized that we are currently in the "Installation Period" of Physical AI, where accumulating technology and talent is more important than avoiding early-stage failures in determining future competitiveness. Professor Jang introduced an AI-powered unmanned factory operating platform and explained that Physical AI is not a technology that replaces people, but a platform that redesigns the structure of work.

He also noted that people's roles will shift from repetitive tasks to becoming system architects, digital operators, and policy designers, and projected that Korea, as a global manufacturing leader, can strengthen its international competitiveness through Physical AI. The forum brought together members of the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee, officials from the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, along with experts from industry, academia, and government, to discuss the future of industry and work in the era of AI transformation.
