Youngjae Jang, CEO of DAIM Research and Professor at KAIST, participated in the Physical AI Frontier Nation New Technology Strategy Forum held at the National Assembly on the 13th, where he presented the dark factory—a fully automated, 24-hour unmanned factory—as a new model for manufacturing exports. He emphasized that as turnkey exports of complete factories become a global trend, Korea has an opportunity to become the world's leading exporter by leveraging its Physical AI-powered unmanned factory platform and dark factory technologies.

The forum, jointly hosted by lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties, also discussed the development of the Physical AI industry and regulatory reforms needed to support the future of manufacturing. Experts from industry, academia, research institutes, and government agreed that national-level support is urgently needed to strengthen the competitiveness of K-Robots. In particular, industry representatives, including Hyundai Motor, pointed out that personal data regulations restricting the use of facial and voice data are the biggest obstacle to the commercialization of robotics. Policy proposals also called for a comprehensive redesign of the ecosystem, including Seoul National University's plan to establish a KRW 50 billion global robotics research hub and the development of solution platforms that connect robotics and AI technologies.
