Physical AI Bridges the Missing Link in Manufacturing AX as the SDF Era Gains Momentum

In a media interview, CEO Youngjae Jang, Professor at KAIST, pointed to the manufacturing paradox caused by the industry's focus on equipment automation while neglecting logistics and operational systems. As a solution, he presented Physical AI, which controls physical environments in real time, and the Software-Defined Factory (SDF). DAIM Research has advanced its simulation-to-reality transfer technology, enabling process design for heterogeneous robot environments to be completed in just a few hours. This achievement was recognized by the global industrial engineering society, INFORMS.
He also highlighted the achievements of the Physical AI-powered unmanned factory platform, which integrates sensors, control systems, and data processing into a single operating system (OS) to orchestrate multiple types of robots. The platform incorporates a VLA model and a reinforcement learning engine to autonomously diagnose equipment anomalies, while its intelligent safety system monitors and manages workplace safety in real time. CEO Jang also announced that, to reduce the failure rate of automation projects, the company will provide small and medium-sized enterprises with free access to a simulation platform that identifies optimal operational logic, with the goal of establishing Korea as a global hub for intelligent factory operations.
