- 2026.06.22

The second phase of the Physical AI Alliance, launched under the leadership of the Ministry of Science and ICT to position Korea as the world's leading nation in Physical AI, was officially inaugurated on the 19th. Building on collaboration among industry, academia, research institutes, and government, the second-phase alliance has been reorganized into an execution-oriented framework to develop full-stack software core technologies and hardware component technologies, while laying the foundation for Korea to lead international standards.
At the launch ceremony, Youngjae Jang, CEO of DAIM Research and Professor at KAIST, was appointed Chair of the Infrastructure Governance Division, which is responsible for advancing standards, security, communications, and global expansion. He emphasized that, given the nature of Physical AI, interoperability among a wide range of hardware components is just as important as software. He also stated that, as automation systems transition toward Physical AI, the alliance will actively support the establishment of industry-wide standards, global expansion, talent development, and commercialization for the broader industrial ecosystem.
