DAIM Research, IBM, and KAIST Partner to Accelerate Industrial Physical AI Commercialization

DAIM Research, IBM Korea, and the KAIST Manufacturing Physical AI Research Center have entered into a strategic tripartite MOU to advance and scale Physical AI across enterprise manufacturing. The alliance will collaborate end-to-end—spanning core R&D, proof-of-concept (PoC), commercialization, on-site deployment, and market scaling—focusing on smart intralogistics, predictive maintenance, unified fleet orchestration, OT security, and industrial AI safety.
Under this partnership, DAIM Research leads commercial solution deployment across enterprise accounts, building on its proven robot orchestration expertise. IBM Korea supports enterprise-grade AI, data architecture, asset management, and security infrastructure to drive industry-wide scaling. KAIST spearheads foundational research and core algorithm development.
Sung-wook Lee, Vice President of DAIM Research, noted that delivering tangible ROI by connecting heterogeneous equipment is at the core of Physical AI, while Young-jae Jang, CEO of DAIM and Head of KAIST Center, emphasized that bridging academic research with industrial deployment creates a sustainable blueprint for next-generation smart manufacturing.
