DAIM Research and POSCO ICT Begin Joint Development of an AI-Based Automated Transport Robot Control System (ACS)
- 2022.12.22

Professor Youngjae Jang of KAIST and CEO of DAIM Research signed a memorandum of understanding with POSCO ICT to jointly develop an Automated Control System (ACS) for unmanned transport robots. The collaboration is aimed at securing an integrated control solution for AGVs and AMRs in manufacturing environments, with Professor Jang's core AI-based large-scale multi-robot control engine serving as the foundation of the ACS. By leveraging digital twin technology, Professor Jang plans to optimize real-time communication and task allocation among robots, maximizing operational efficiency across manufacturing and logistics facilities.
Based on DAIM Research's core engine, POSCO ICT will develop services tailored to industrial applications and, following simulation and on-site validation, deploy the solution first at high-risk, labor-intensive worksites across the POSCO Group. CEO Jang stated that this collaboration will establish a new standard for robot operations in large-scale warehouses and manufacturing facilities while expanding the industry's ecosystem. He also emphasized that, following POSCO Technology Investment's investment in the company, closer technological collaboration with the POSCO Group will further position DAIM Research's autonomous manufacturing solutions as a key driver of robot automation across Korea's industrial sector.
