  • 2025.06.25

Professor Youngjae Jang of KAIST and DAIM Research hosted the forum "The Future of Manufacturing and Automation Driven by Physical AI and SDx" at the KAIST campus on the 25th. The forum was organized to share strategies for manufacturing innovation based on Physical AI and real-world applications of autonomous manufacturing. In the first session, Professor Jang presented examples of SDx implementations powered by Physical AI, outlining a software-defined approach to manufacturing innovation.

The forum also featured discussions on Hyundai Motor's adoption of Software-Defined Factory (SDF) and Naver's AI agent strategy, highlighting the future direction of manufacturing. In the second session, participants from industry, academia, and research institutions, including DAIM Research and Unity Korea, shared insights into digital twin technologies and trends in autonomous manufacturing. DAIM Research, a robot orchestration company spun off from a KAIST research lab, is advancing Physical AI-based automated design solutions. CEO Jang emphasized that the forum would serve as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration among industry, government, and academia, helping Korea take a leading role in the global autonomous manufacturing market.
