"Korea Has No Manufacturing AI Solution Company Like Siemens" (Roundup 2)

  • 2025.07.30

Professor Youngjae Jang of KAIST and CEO of DAIM Research stated at the Physical AI Roundtable on the 30th that Korea should boldly pursue the development of globally competitive AI manufacturing solutions. Professor Jang emphasized that, with leadership in Physical AI technologies, Korea's manufacturing systems themselves could become the country's next-generation export model. He also highlighted the importance of viewing an entire factory as one large robot, where seamless collaboration among robots drives higher productivity.

Professor Jang further noted that Korea has a significant opportunity, given Germany's slower industrial processes and China's geopolitical challenges. He added that the Ministry of Science and ICT should take a leading role in developing globally competitive Physical AI software and core infrastructure technologies. DAIM Research, together with Professor Jang's research team, has already demonstrated its technological excellence by ranking second, behind Ford, in the Innovation Case Competition hosted by the globally renowned INFORMS. Building on its proprietary Physical AI technologies, CEO Jang plans to drive innovation in the manufacturing and logistics industries while helping Korea strengthen its leadership in the global market.
