DAIM Research presented its vision for Physical AI-based autonomous manufacturing at the 2026 Industrial Intelligence Conference. In his keynote address, CEO Youngjae Jang introduced an approach to transforming factories into dark factories by integrating robots, data, and digital twins. He explained that manufacturing systems will evolve to recognize production conditions through real-time data generated by sensors and robots, enabling autonomous adjustment of process conditions and production sequences.

He also noted that manufacturing competitiveness is shifting from product-centric production to factory operating systems, identifying Physical AI as the core technology driving this transition. He emphasized that autonomous manufacturing factories are unmanned production environments in which robots and AI continuously learn and make decisions on their own. DAIM Research has developed a Physical AI-based robot orchestration solution and has carried out projects in industries including secondary batteries and semiconductors. The company is also expanding its global presence through the establishment of its U.S. subsidiary.
