KBIZ Highlights the Role of Cooperatives in Driving Manufacturing AI Transformation for SMEs
- 2026.10.21

At the "Physical AI Era: Innovation Strategies for SMEs" policy forum co-hosted by the Korea Federation of SMEs (KBIZ) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Jeju on October 21, industry leaders gathered to establish shared data infrastructures and validation frameworks for small and medium manufacturers.
Participating as a key panelist, Young-jae Jang, Professor at KAIST and CEO of DAIM Technology, redefined Physical AI as holistic "manufacturing intelligence" capable of autonomously orchestrating end-to-end plant operations. To lower adoption barriers for industrial SMEs, Jang proposed the "Universal AI Plant Manager" model, which deploys pre-validated systems across industry cooperatives. This deployment strategy directly aligns with DAIM Technology`s Physical AI Unmanned Factory Platform, enabling cost-effective multi-asset orchestration across broader supply chain ecosystems.
