National Assembly Inspection Spotlight: KAIST Showcases Physical AI Unmanned Factory Platform
- 2026.10.20

During the parliamentary audit on October 20, members of the National Assembly`s Science and ICT Committee visited the KAIST Manufacturing Physical AI Testbed to inspect next-generation autonomous plant operations. The demonstration highlighted multi-agent AI systems reasoning through real-time shop-floor context—identifying sensor discrepancies, dynamically dispatching inspection assets, and executing predictive safety protocols.
Young-jae Jang, Professor at KAIST and CEO of DAIM Technology, outlined the strategic roadmap: rather than mimicking generic overseas approaches, Korea`s Physical AI framework builds upon dense, shop-floor manufacturing data and operational domain expertise. Jang emphasized that the core objective is commercializing scalable Physical AI Unmanned Factory Platforms to export end-to-end, turnkey autonomous plant systems to global enterprise markets.
